In this blog post, I would like to talk about a thought-provoking question that was directed at the Waves Tracker App that really helped solidify the aim of the app.
Most recently I received a message from a user that was in doubt about whether to buy a watch and start tracking his surf sessions or not. His question was: “but will it help me get barrelled?”.
Oh, the barrel, the green room, the tube! Considered by some surfers the most difficult maneuver in surfing; let’s see how Waves Tracker can indeed help with that.
It is no surprise that nowadays most professional runners and cyclists use GPS devices to track and measure their performances. Some of the more modern devices come also equipped with Heart Rate Monitors and accelerometers to track/detect incline and decline.
The information collected helps runners and cyclists see exactly where they need to improve, and that is only possible through the data collected.
The exact same principles can be applied when using Waves Tracker, you will be able to see how many waves you caught, how long you surfed for, at what spot you caught more waves, etc. You can also make notes, write down the equipment used, tide, and any other information you may find useful.
To put it simply, yes Waves Tracker can help you get barrelled indeed. It will give you a clear view of your surf pattern and you can then work out a plan on how you can improve until you finally get barrelled.
Thanks for reading and until next time, cheers!
